airstrikes

BEIRUT: Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut killing 22 people and injuring 117, said Lebanon’s health ministry. Lebanese officials said an eight-storied building in the Burj Abi Haider area was completely razed to the ground in the attack. The airstrikes targeted the areas of Ras Al-Naba and Burj Abi Haider.

Hundreds of people have been killed in the ongoing violence over the past few weeks. Millions had to leave their homes. 10 firefighters were killed in an attack in southern Lebanon a few days ago.

In addition to airstrikes, Israel has also been carrying out ground strikes targeting Hezbollah's bases in southern Lebanon since October 1. Israeli forces opened fire on United Nations peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, wounding two.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanon that if Hezbollah is not eliminated, it will be destroyed like Gaza. Gaza faces a similar fate if Hezbollah is allowed to operate in Lebanon. In the video message, Netanyahu also called on the Lebanese people to free the country from Hezbollah to avoid further destruction.
