MUMBAI: Noel Tata has been appointed chairman of Tata Trusts. His appointment is following the demise of his half-brother Ratan Tata. Noel Tata was appointed as the chairman at the Tata Trust Board meeting held Friday morning. H P Ranina, corporate lawyer responded that Noel's leadership will strengthen the Tata Group's journey forward.
R Gopalakrishnan, former board member of Tata Sons, described Noel as a nice and sensible man. He can do very good things for Tata Trust. He also said the rationality acquired by Noel in business and management will be very beneficial for Tata Trust.
Noel Tata has been the chairman of Tata's apparel chain Trent since 2014. Prior to that, he was in charge of Tata International Limited from 2010 to 2021. During his time there, the commodity trading company’s revenue grew from $500 million to more than $3 billion.
Noel Tata holds a degree from Sussex University in the United Kingdom and has completed the International Executive Programme (IEP) at INSEAD.
