THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that everything is not over with the transfer of ADGP MR Ajith Kumar and the proceedings will continue. He also said that an investigation is underway into the issue of Ajith Kumar's meeting with the RSS leadership. He also said that discussions on the candidates for the Palakkad and Chelakkara by-elections are continuing.

There are indications that apart from Beenamol, another name has cropped up in the Palakkad assembly constituency. Meantime, in Chelakkara, the name of former MLA UR Pradeep is at the forefront. It is being planned to arrive at a consensus at the state secretariat to be held on the 19th. Govindan said that the Hindu newspaper's claim that the PR agency had intervened in the controversial interview of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan cannot be accepted.

He added that the newspaper's stand expressing regret for publishing the false remark in the name of the Chief Minister is welcome and commendable. An interview was published in The Hindu in the name of the Chief Minister alleging that the gold smuggling hawala money was being used for anti-national activities in Malappuram. The newspaper expressed regret after the intervention of the Chief Minister's Office and said that it was the PR agency which had asked The Hindu to include such a remark in the interview.
