KOZHIKODE: A speeding car fatally hit a differently-abled woman and her mother. The accident happened at Poonoor market last night.

The car hit Shamla and Isha Rahim of Thachampoyil in Thamarassery when they were crossing the road. The police seized ganja from the car while searching the vehicle.

The driver of the car was taken into custody. The locals said the person in the car was under the influence of drugs. Following this, the Baluserry police searched the car and found ganja. Those in custody are being interrogated in detail.
