THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a warning of widespread rain in various districts of the state today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad in the next three hours.
Meanwhile, a warning has also been issued that there will be high waves from tomorrow morning. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed that there is a possibility of high wave and black sea phenomenon of 0.6 to 1.0 m along Mahi coast and 1.2 to 1.5 m along south Tamil Nadu coast (Kanyakumari coast) from 15/10/2024 at 5.30 am to 16/10/2024 at 11.30 pm. The coastal residents have been asked to be extra careful.
Yellow alert has been announced in six districts today. There are indications that rain will continue in the coming days.

A chance of isolated heavy rain has been predicted. Heavy rain refers to rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. Thunderstorms are expected.
