Actress and model Sadhika Venugopal recently opened up about the nuances of acting in television serials, stating that a certain level of overacting is necessary for serials. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Sadhika shared her experiences transitioning from films to serials and the challenges she faced.
"Through experience, I’ve become bold. Overacting is required in serials, as well as specific makeup techniques, because the audience needs to be captivated," Sadhika explained. She also said that she sometimes feels her acting is not up to par compared to other actors. "Many have told me that this is because I came from films to serials," she added.
Sadhika also discussed her experience with a bedroom scene in a short film she had acted in earlier. "I had some issues performing certain scenes because my marriage had just been fixed at the time. I had to think about my family’s perspective."
She appreciated the efforts of the director, who made the shooting environment as comfortable as possible. "During that scene, only the cameraman, another actor, a make-up artist and I were present in the room. I really liked how the director handled it," she said, adding that there are several directors in the Malayalam film industry who ensure the comfort of actors during shoots.
