THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Jayasurya has appeared at the police station in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the sexual harassment complaint against him. Although the actor was directed to appear at the Cantonment Station at 11 am, he reached the station by 8.15 am to avoid media attention.

The first sexual harassment case against the actor was registered on August 28. The case was registered on the complaint lodged by a Kochi-based actress. The special investigation team has recorded the actress's statement as part of the case.

In her complaint, the actress alleged that Jayasurya misbehaved with her during the shooting of the film 'Dhe Ingottu Nokkiye' directed by Balachandra Menon in 2008. The alleged incident happened while the film's shooting was taking place in Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. The actress alleged that Jayasurya came from behind, hugged and kissed her and invited her to his flat while she was fixing her saree during the shooting.

Later, another actress too filed a complaint against the actor. Following this, a second sexual harassment case was registered against the actor by the police. The actress alleged that Jayasurya sexually harassed her at the shooting location of a film in Thodupuzha during 2012-2013.
