KANNUR: Former Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the death of ADM Naveen Babu was not a suicide but a murder committed under the leadership of the CPM through public trial. According to Chennithala, humiliating a person amidst colleagues to the extent of driving him to suicide is equivalent to murder. A person with only seven months left for retirement was insulted in this manner and pushed to death due to personal enmity. Chennithala demanded a comprehensive probe into the matter.
"The CPM is implementing a program across Kerala to carry out any form of corruption by exerting intense pressure on government employees. Those who don't yield are subjected to intense harassment, driving several to death. This is unacceptable. If the District Panchayat President has threatened the ADM, it's an extremely grave matter," Chennithala said.
"If there is any corruption, there are legal ways to address it. If the District Panchayat President had a complaint, she could have filed it with Vigilance. When there are multiple avenues available, such as filing a complaint with the government, it is unacceptable for someone holding a high constitutional position to publicly humiliate a person nearing retirement and push them towards death. This is another form of mob lynching. This is not suicide, but homicide," Chennithala added.
