KANNUR: The CPM Kannur District Secretariat stated that the death of ADM K Naveen Babu was completely unfortunate and unexpected. The district secretariat stated that District Panchayat President PP Divya raised the criticism against Naveen Babu with good intentions against corruption. It, however, added that the manner in which Divya conveyed her concerns was inappropriate and should have been handled differently.

'When people face injustices, they often turn to their elected representatives to express their grievances. Even if the remarks made were in response to such grievances, the District Panchayat President should have avoided making such comments at a farewell event. We are requesting the government to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all the complaints that have emerged,' the district secretariat stated.

Meanwhile, protests are intensifying over Naveen's death. Various organizations have held protest marches against Divya. A clash broke out during the protest march organised by the Youth League. Clashes occurred between the police and the protesters. Youth Congress, Youth League, Congress and BJP activists are intensifying their protest demanding the resignation of the District Panchayat President.
