KONNI: A few days back, ADM Naveen Babu’s family rejoiced hearing the news of his transfer back to his hometown. Naveen’s wife Manjusha and children awaited his return to their house in Karuvally Malayalapuzha. Naveen was supposed to take charge as Pathanamthitta ADM on Tuesday. He even informed Manjusha of his return by train from Kannur to Chengannur.

Manjusha and children Nirupama and Niranjana reached Chengannur railway station at four in the morning awaiting Naveen’s return. However, the train went by but there was no sight of Naveen. They even tried to contact him but to no avail. The railway police were informed about the missing. In the subsequent investigation, it became clear that Naveen had not boarded the train. Soon came the shocking news about his suicide.

People from his native Malayalapuzha fondly remember Naveen and have only good things to talk about him. Naveen Babu worked in the revenue department at Pathanamthitta, Konni and Ranni. He won the hearts of colleagues with his disarming demeanour and was the best-performing employee everywhere.
