KANNUR: The Kerala Human Rights Commission has registered a case against Kannur District Panchayat President PP Divya in connection with the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu. The Human Rights Commission registered a case and issued a notice to the district administration based on a complaint demanding legal action against the District Panchayat President.
The Commission's Judicial Member, K Baijunath, directed the District Collector and District Police Chief to investigate the complaint and submit a report within two weeks. The case will be considered in the sitting scheduled on November 19 at the Kannur Government Guest House.
According to the complaint, the District Panchayat President showed up uninvited to the ADM's farewell organized by the staff and publicly humiliated him with corruption accusations. The complainant claimed Divya's actions were entirely unlawful and called for compensation as well as employment for Naveen Babu's dependents.
Kannur ADM Naveen Babu was found hanging in his quarters in Pallikkunnu yesterday morning. This tragic event occurred just a day after he was given a farewell under the leadership of the District Collector. During the ceremony, PP Divya had alleged that Naveen had committed irregularities in connection with granting NOC to the petrol pump owned by a man named TV Prashanthan. She stated that she had proper evidence regarding the matter and that she would release it within two days.
