PATHANAMTHITTA: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan has responded to the press conference held by Congress Digital Media Convener P Sarin. Speaking to the media in Thiruvalla, Satheesan said that he did not know why Sarin reacted emotionally.

"I don't know why Sarin reacted in such a way. I had requested him not to react emotionally. He would definitely face the consequences for it," Satheesan said.

"Candidates were finalized after discussions. We have announced the best candidates for the by-elections. Rahul Mamkootathil is a smart candidate. He is the battle leader of the Congress. The candidates were selected after completing all discussions according to the procedures. The full responsibility for this lies with me and the KPCC President. The names were sent to the AICC after completing all procedures. We haven't made any mistake in it. I don't know why Sarin reacted in such a way. I had spoken to him," he said.

"Rahul is the state president of the Youth Congress. He is the face of Congress in channel discussions. He is a person who has won people's hearts with logical arguments. Nobody has raised any objections against him. The party always says that seats should be given to the youth and women, but often that is not followed. When we got the opportunity this time, we made sure to follow it. All three candidates of the Congress have proven their abilities," he added.

"Sarin should do some introspection. He should think whether holding the press conference was the right decision. The KPCC President will review the matter of the disciplinary violation," Satheesan said.
