BENGALURU: Two crocodiles escaped after a lorry transporting animals to a zoo overturned. The vehicle was carrying two white tigers and eight crocodiles from Patna, Bihar, to a zoo in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The accident occurred in Mondiguta, Telangana.

The speeding lorry crashed into an electric transmission pole near the forest check post. The accident happened yesterday. Nirmal police have registered a case against the driver. After the cart overturned, two crocodiles escaped to the nearby area. Other animals, including a tiger, were trapped in the overturned lorry as their cages were unable to escape.

The crocodiles were caught by the forest department officials, police and locals who reached the spot after getting the information. The animals were sent to Bannerghatta National Park in Bengaluru in another vehicle. A lorry carrying animals from Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna was involved in the accident. According to the driver, he was tired from driving long distances without help and that led to the accident.
