THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC chief K Sudhakaran asked the government and the CPM not to add water in the investigation in connection with the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu. The CPM asked P P Divya, district panchayat president, to resign from the post, as there was no other way. He said this is only a temporary retreat for fear of backlash including in by-elections.
‘The CPM leadership will again take the stand of protecting P P Divya after the by polls. This is clear if examined CPM’s tradition and style so far. Immediately after ADM's death, the CPM was hesitant to reject Divya, who is behind his death and the DYFI coming forward to defend her by portraying her as an anti-corruption fighter, is an example for this.
The CPM tried to insult Naveen Babu even after his death by raising fake allegations of corruption without considering that his family are supporters of the LDF. A case was registered against Divya on charges of abetment to suicide only when the emotions of the public of Kerala turned against her. It should also be read that the same system that saved P P Divya in the previous case of abusing sisters of Thalassery Kuttimakkool and one of them attempting suicide is the same system that registered the case now.
It should be examined whether the district collector is involved in creating a dramatic situation for P P Divya to insult the ADM during the sendoff function. It is alleged that Divya's uninvited entry into the meeting was part of a planned intervention. It is also mysterious that the district collector did not intervene when Divya was insulting the ADM.
Also, the complainant who leveled corruption allegations against the ADM should be investigated including the financial source of T V Prasanthan and whether Divya is involved in this transaction. It is almost clear from the voice conversation of the complainant that the allegation against the ADM is fabricated. The black forces who wrote the story and screenplay for the charge of taking an officer's life need to be brought before the law,’ clarified Sudhakaran.
