PATHANAMTHITTA: The family of ADM Naveen Babu said that they cannot accept the letter of apology sent by Kannur district collector Arun K Jayan. Pro-CPI organisation Joint Council Pathanamthitta district secretary G Akhil said Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha had informed them about this.

"Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha is dissatisfied with the letter. No issues have been mentioned in the letter. There is nothing but mentioning the collector's personal experiences," said G Akhil.

'We don't take the letter seriously. The collector did not intervene in calling the online channel and conducting such a programme. He could have intervened but did not intervene and did not take the letter seriously," Manjusha informed G Akhil. Akhil also said that Naveen's family had demanded legal help in the case.

In the letter, collector Arun K Jayan had written that he was in Pathanamthitta till Naveen's last rites were over and that he wanted to come but could not. "The shock caused by Naveen's death is yet to go away. Naveen was someone who worked shoulder-to-shoulder with me till yesterday. Naveen, whom I have known for nearly eight months, was a person who fulfilled his responsibility with efficiency and empathy," collector Arun K Vijayan said in the letter to the family. The collector was sitting with his head bowed when Divya spoke. There was a lot of criticism, including on social media, over the Kannur collector's approach. The apology letter was in this context.
