KOCHI: Police have arrested a gym owner in the case of the murder of a gym trainer in Aluva. Kannur Sreekandapuram native Sabith was found dead at his residence in Aluva on Friday. The arrested person is Krishnaprathap (25), who runs a gym in Chunangamvely in Aluva. He was arrested from Chembuchira in Thrissur.
Sabith used to work in the gym owned by Krishnaprathap. According to the police, a financial transaction issue sparked a quarrel between the two, leading to the murder. It was the Edathala police that conducted the investigation and arrested the accused. Krishnaprathap said that he had fired Sabith two months ago due to some financial disputes.
The financial disputes between the two didn't subside even after Sabith was fired from his job. Despite losing his job, Sabith continued to live in Aluva. The murder occurred on Friday morning around 6 am. The accused arrived at Sabith's rented residence, stabbed him with a sharp object, and fled the scene on a bike. Sabith died instantly on the spot.
Sabith is the son of Sreekandapuram native Khader and the late Fathima. His wife: Shemeela. Children: Sahra and Ivan. The police have registered the arrest of the accused in the incident and are preparing for detailed interrogation.
