KANNUR: Government records indicate that there was no lapse on the part of ADM Naveen Babu in issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the controversial petrol pump. This was also confirmed by the investigation conducted by the District Collector as per government directives. The delay in issuing NOC to the pump was only due to the time taken to obtain approvals from various departments.
Naveen Babu, who was the ADM of Kasaragod, assumed office in Kannur on February 1, 2024, prior to the Lok Sabha elections. The ADM's duty is to provide the final clearance certificate after obtaining approvals from various departments. Naveen Babu received the final favourable report from the Town Planner on September 30. He granted final clearance on October 9. The file was on Naveen's desk for only nine days. Out of which only six were working days.
