KANNUR: Despite being accused of abetment to suicide and getting sacked from her post of District Panchayat President, PP Divya continued to raise allegations against Kannur ADM Naveen Babu, who committed suicide, unable to bear the insults. The allegations of corruption and negligence in duties against Naveen Babu were highlighted in the anticipatory bail plea Divya submitted to the court yesterday. She even projected herself as a model public representative who pointed out corruption and improper conduct.

Divya stated that she attended the farewell ceremony after being invited by the Collector. She stated that she had come across many complaints alleging that Naveen used to delay the files in anticipation of bribery. She added that apart from Prashanthan, another man named Gangadharan had also approached her with a complaint against Naveen Babu.

The anticipatory bail plea was filed at Thalassery Principal Sessions Court. The court will consider the plea today. Naveen Babu's family will join as a party in the case today to oppose the bail plea. Divya also said that Prashanthan had revealed to her that he had handed over the bribe to Naveen Babu.

'The aim is a corruption-free district panchayat. The Collector invited me to the farewell ceremony during another program. I had not intended to speak at the ceremony. I spoke after the Deputy Collector invited me to speak. I mentioned corruption as it was a public platform with responsible individuals present,' Divya stated in her plea.

Meanwhile, Divya had initially claimed in her speech that she came to the ceremony while passing by. The other day, the Kannur Town Police had sumbitted a report to the court after naming Divya as an accused.
