KOCHI: The ED has attached assets worth Rs 56.56 crore of the banned popular front of India( PFI). Most of these are from Kerala.
According to the ED, the funds were raised through banks, hawala and donations and used for anti-national activities. The collected amount was deposited in 29 bank accounts in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur. Popular Front has 13,000 active members in Singapore and elsewhere and the PFI's Sathya Sarani Centre in Manjeri is a place for Islamic conversions, according to a report released by the ED.
