KALPATTA: A six-year-old girl was attacked and killed by a leopard on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border in Valpara. Apsara Khatoon, daughter of natives of Jharkhand, died. While going with the mother, the child was attacked by a tiger. The incident happened around 2 pm.

Later, the body of the child was found from the forest border during the search conducted by the forest department officials and locals. The body was shifted to Valpara Government Hospital. The child's parents are plantation workers.

The woman and the child were going through the tea garden to drink tea. Meanwhile, the leopard that was lurking in the tea garden came forward. Hearing the cries of the mother and the child, local residents and laborers rushed here. In the first phase, a search was conducted in the tea garden, but the child could not be found. The body was found in the search by the Forest Department officials near the forest border.
