KANNUR: Protests are intensifying over the police's alleged reluctance to arrest PP Divya, despite charges of abetting suicide in the death of Naveen Babu. It is alleged that the police are colluding with some people to delay the arrest, with some speculating that Divya has been moved to a secret location.

The Thalassery Principal Sessions Court did not consider Divya's anticipatory bail plea yesterday. The court might consider the plea tomorrow.

If the court rejects the anticipatory bail plea, Divya will then approach the High Court. It's clear that the police are shielding Divya despite booking her under a non-bailable offence. The police have been trying to shield Divya ever since her role in Naveen Babu's suicide came to light. It took 3 days for the police to name Divya an accused, giving her a window to apply for anticipatory bail.

Divya was at her home in Irinavu the other day. However, the police reported that they couldn't find Divya despite searching for her at her house and a relative's house. However, neighbours claim they didn't see the police arriving.

PP Divya is a member of the Kannur District Committee of the party. It's understood that the district unit intervened to delay the arrest until the court makes a decision. Although the district committee had declared that it wouldn't interfere in the investigation, the party's lawyer K Vishwan is representing Divya in her anticipatory bail plea in court.

Meanwhile, CPM Pathanamthitta district secretary KP Udayabhanu has reiterated his support for Naveen's family while distancing himself from Divya. He said that any organization that supports Divya will not be accepted.

Submitted resignation in secret
The other day, Divya secretly met the District Panchayat Secretary near the railway station and submitted her resignation. The message shared by Divya through her WhatsApp DP and status read, 'Even if we tell the truth about ourselves a thousand times, the world may still believe the lies others whisper.'
