Suraj Venjaramoodu said that he is eagerly waiting to do a role like Dasamoolam Damu from the Mammootty film Chattambinadu. The actor said that a person succeeds in films only when he plays characters that stick in the minds of Malayalees. Suraj Venjaramoodu shared his film experiences in an interview with a YouTube channel as part of the promotion of his new film Mura.

'It’s now easy to enter the film industry. The freshers should have good luck. After some time, only those having a good talent can continue in films. That's when good characters come in search of us. I am ready to play any role in a film. The character of Dashamool Damu is imprinted in the minds of every movie lover. When I sit in the theatre to watch a film, I wish that I get a good film in which I can act throughout. It may happen. When I acted as Damu, I never thought that it would become so viral on social media,' said Suraj.

The actor also spoke about the experiences he had when performing at venues in the early days. 'I have done programmes till 5 am in festival grounds. The people have waited and seen everything, but now that vibe has changed. Now all the lights will be switched off at 10 pm. All the artists here go abroad for programmes.

Thiruvathira was being held at Kadakkal in Kollam. I had a friend in the program office there. When I asked him, which programme gets more bookings, he said for drama and ballet. Now it is for DJ. Only if there is DJ, youngsters will enter and that is the trend now, added Suraj.
