ALAPPUZHA: Room closed throughout the night to play on the mobile without sleep. Sleep in the morning without going to school. Those who fight with parents for restricting phone use. Those who burned their hands in online business and games without continuing their education.

The 'emojen clinic', which liberates all age groups including young children to elderly from mobile addiction, is being extended across the state.

The emojen clinic, which was started two years ago at the Kozhikode district mental health centre, saw hundreds of people being freed from internet addiction through psychotherapy. It was during the Covid period that the phone and internet usage of the students became excessive. This is not only eroding learning but also making children vulnerable to cyber fraud, sexual exploitation and other crimes. Children are taken to the emojen clinic for treatment through counselling and in cases caught by the cyber police,

The counselling is supervised by experienced clinical psychologists. Phone: 0495-2741385, 9400058020, 9847134970.
