LUCKNOW: A young man from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has sought help over concerns about his wife's excessive drinking. The issue surfaced during counseling provided by the family counseling center at a local police station. The identities of the couple have not been disclosed.

The couple, married just two months ago, faced challenges when the husband revealed that his wife frequently consumed alcohol, a habit she continued even after marriage. The young man stated that he was not interested in drinking but his wife often pressured him to join her. Unable to cope, the husband eventually took his wife back to her parental home. In response, the woman lodged a complaint with the police, accusing her husband of abandoning her. This prompted the police to arrange counseling for the couple.

During the counseling session, the husband explained that his wife would drink daily and force him to do the same. He further claimed that she would consume three to four drinks in one sitting. The wife, during the session, admitted to her drinking habits and confirmed her husband's statements. After the session, both parties decided to resolve their differences and agreed to live together once again.
