PALAKKAD: Opposition leader VD Satheesan and KPCC president K Sudhakaran rejected all the conditions put forward by PV Anvar before UDF. "PV Anvar should not challenge UDF. No conditions related to the withdrawal of the candidate will be accepted. Support only if you wish to," Satheesan said.

"If the reasons given by Anvar when he came out of the LDF are highlighted, he should cooperate with the UDF. Jokes involving putting conditions in front of the UDF will not be entertained. All this work to withdraw Ramya from Chelakkara. This demand of Anvar should only be seen as a joke," the opposition leader quipped.

"When Anvar informed us that he was interested in cooperating, we were ready for a discussion. Anvar said he would withdraw his candidates if requested. When the request was made, he suggested that Ramya should be withdrawn for his candidate from Palakkad to be withdrawn. If willing, Anvar can support UDF. Congress and UDF are not accepting any other conditions.

Anvar has levelled the same allegations against the government which we have been making for the last two years. These were misrule and the infidel relationship between CPM and BJP. Why are the people who are levelling such allegations against the government fielding candidates to help them?" asked VD Satheesan. It will be a good thing to withdraw the candidate, if not, let things go as it is.

"The UDF has neither closed nor opened its door in front of anyone. Appropriate decisions will be taken in due course of time. It's politics. PV Anvar has said that he will unconditionally support Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad. We are happy about that." VD Satheesan said sarcastically that Priyanka Gandhi would suffer in Wayanad if Anvar doesn't support her anymore.

Meantime, PV Anvar replied that he is no longer interested in discussing with Congress and that people will know whether what he said was a joke or not after the elections.
