THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that former Kannur District Panchayat President PP Divya will not be protected in the death of ADM Naveen Babu. The Chief Minister assured that there will be strict action against Divya. The Chief Minister made this clear during the LDF meeting on Monday. He said that the CPM removed Divya from the post of District Panchayat President soon after an allegation was raised against her. He also said that it is time to stand with the family of Naveen.

The Chief Minister stated that the police would complete the investigation swiftly and that the government would not interfere with it in any way. He also stated that further action would be taken after the police submitted the report. This is the Chief Minister's first response to the issue.

Although five days have passed since Divya was named accused in the case, the police have not yet summoned her for questioning. The police have charged her with non-bailable offences, which can carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years. Despite collecting statements from those who participated in the farewell ceremony, the investigation has not reached Divya yet. Meanwhile, the hearing on Divya's anticipatory bail plea has been postponed to Thursday.
