CHENNAI: A case has been registered against a famous YouTuber for shooting his wife's delivery and for cutting the umbilical cord of his newborn. The case was registered against YouTuber Muhammad Irfan of Tamil Nadu. Releasing the video of him cutting his newborn’s umbilical cord stoked a controversy. Irfan has more than 45 lakh followers in his YouTube channel.
The Tamil Nadu Health Department had the other day announced that action will be taken against Irfan. The 16-minute-long video shows Irfan's wife leaving home for the delivery and birth of the baby in the operation theater of a private hospital. Irfan cut the umbilical cord of his newborn with the permission of the doctors. As the visuals were circulated on social media, the Tamil Nadu Health Department sought information from the hospital authorities. The video was removed from the channel after it sparked controversy.
Only a doctor has permission to cut the umbilical cord. The director of medical and rural health services said action will be taken against the hospital and the doctor who was in the operation theater in connection with the incident. Action was earlier taken against Irfan for disclosing the sex of his baby and releasing it on YouTube channel. He had apologized then and had removed the video.
