KASARAGOD: Allegations are turning rampant about police not arresting former DYFI district committee member Sachita Ray of Kasaragod, for extorting money from people with fake promises of jobs.

The complainants allege that Sachita may have extorted at least three crore rupees from various people through job scams. Now, more people are coming forward with complaints.

Sachita, a school teacher in Manjeswaram Badoor, tricked many with fake job promises that included assistant manager at Horticulture Research Centre, a clerk at Karnataka Excise, a job at SBI Bank and a job at Kendriya Vidyalaya. She even took money ranging from one lakh to fifteen lakhs from people who fell for her words.

Sachita extorted Rs one lakh from Malesh, a Badoor native, after promising a job with Karnataka Excise. Malesh never doubted Sachita as she was his son’s school teacher. Sachita Ray approached the District Principal Sessions Court in Kasaragod with an application for anticipatory bail, but it was rejected. Allegations surfaced after police still delayed the arrest which many doubt for the influence Sachita wield in politics.
