Bala was talking to the media after marriage.
‘Bride Kokila is my relative. My mother couldn’t attend the wedding. She is 74. She wanted to come but her health condition is bad. Kokila's childhood dream has now turned true. Bless us. Kokila doesn’t know Malayalam. My health has improved in the last one year. Kokila stood with me all that time. After liver transplant, I felt like having a companion. If that is my own relative then I am confident. Able to go forward smoothly. There is peace in life', Bala told media after the marriage.
There were reports that Bala was first married to Chandana Sagasiva. However, Bala had never revealed about his first marriage. Bala got married to a Malayalee singer in 2010. After his divorce with the singer, he married Dr Elizabeth Udayan but that relationship was not legally registered. The two were together only for a few months.
