KANNUR: Youth congress Kannur district committee has released a lookout notice against P P Divya, accused in the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu. The notice says that a ransom of Rs one lakh would be given to those finding her. The notice has demanded that those finding her should inform either to the nearby police station or congress office. Divya is the lone accused who can get imprisonment of up to 10 years for the crime that led Naveen Babu to commit suicide. However, the police have not arrested her so far. The notice was issued in protest against this. The investigating officers told media an investigation is being conducted and that she is absconding. However, even preliminary investigations for the absconding accused have not been conducted against Divya. Her husband V P Ajith also does not have an answer to it.

There is an attempt to tone down the public sentiment against Divya by saying there is evidence for the bribery given to the ADM. Despite the chief minister's assurance that action will be taken against Divya, the investigation team is shirking their responsibility. The Thalassery Principal Sessions Court will consider Divya's anticipatory bail plea tomorrow. At least until then, the police are trying to provide cover. If summoned for interrogation, arrest and remand will be necessary. It is alleged that the aim is to avoid it.
T V Prasanthan, the applicant of the petrol pump, had given a statement to the police yesterday that he had given bribe to Naveen Babu. His statement is that the money got by pledging gold was handed over to him at his quarters on October 6. This is the second time he is reiterating the allegation. He produced the documents for pledging gold and evidence of talking to the ADM on phone. Vigilance investigation against Prasanthan is also going on. The vigilance probe is based on the complaint filed by the local leader of the Muslim League pointing the inconsistencies in the complaint that Prasanthan claimed to have given to the chief minister. The Vigilance Kozhikode unit will record his statement soon.
