NILAMBUR: NDA candidate Navya Haridas is determined to make things tough for Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi's dream debut in Wayanad. Navya responded to Rahul Gandhi’s comments about Wayanad getting two MPs on the occasion of a congress win. The BJP candidate said the statement was condescending and a prelude to keeping a puppet MP in the district which will be of no use to the public.

Navya Haridas was speaking at the BJP regional meeting in Nilambur:

“Rahul Gandhi did nothing for Wayanad in the last five years. The younger scions from the Gandhi Family have started visiting the place like tourists. The constituency needs someone who can stay with the people all the time. When the landslide occurred in Wayanad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew down here and monitored the rescue operations. The government in Kerala has not even distributed the relief aid granted by the centre to the affected people. I am asking for vote putting forward the central government's development policies of the last few years.’

The meeting held at Peevees Arcade, Nilambur was inaugurated by BJP State General Secretary M.T. Ramesh. BJP Malappuram District President Ravi Thelath presided over the event.
