PALAKKAD: UDF candidate Rahul Mamkootathil has rented a flat in the constituency. Rahul is a native of Pathanamthitta and has now shifted from his hometown to Palakkad with his family.

‘Rented a flat and has shifted to the new place. The duration of all agreements is eleven months. It is usually renewed after every 11 months. The owner of this flat has two more flats here. This flat was lying vacant. So, can stay here lifelong.

Got an address in Palakkad. Now waiting to have an address in the minds of the people. Hoping the people of Palakkad will give it. Visited several places of worship in the morning. Got everyone's blessings. Visited the markets and then reached home. Got the money to deposit from my mother and will submit the nomination papers,' he told a media.

Meantime, ahead of submitting the nomination papers, the left independent candidate Dr P Sarin visited K Karunaran's grave and offered floral tributes. Usually, Congress candidates visit Karunakaran's memorial before filing their nomination papers. Sarin clarified that he did this because there is still a congressman inside.
