KANNUR: The prosecution said former Kannur district panchayat president P P Divya, had personally attacked ADM Naveen Babu. The prosecution informed the court that such a thing was done with proper planning.

The prosecution pointed that the deputy collector in his statement had said that no one had invited Divya to Naveen Babu's farewell function. The hearing is still continuing in the Thalassery Principal Sessions Court on the anticipatory bail plea of Divya.

Divya has been charged with abetment of suicide. She filed the anticipatory bail plea through advocate K Viswan. The defense lawyer informed the court that she is one who has a strong stand against corruption and that she had received two complaints against Naveen.

Divya attended the farewell function of Naveen after the collector invited her informally. Had informed the collector that she would attend the function. Divya's lawyer told the court that it was the deputy collector who invited her to speak at the function. Divya's argument was that what she said was not abetment to suicide but was advising him to do better.

Meantime, P P Divya has been hiding since the past one week. Divya is the first accused in the crime of abetting suicide. Police said the investigation is on and Divya is not at her home in Irinave.
