zeeshan-siddique

MUMBAI: Zeeshan Siddique, son of Baba Siddique, who was killed recently, has joined the Ajit Pawar led faction of the NCP. He was expelled from the Congress for cross-voting in the Maharashtra assembly council elections in last August. Zeeshan Siddique had denied the allegations levelled against him.

Soon after joining the NCP, Zeeshan said this is an emotional day for my family and me. He said that he will contest in the Maharashtra assembly elections from Vandre East he won in 2019 when he was with the congress. ‘My family and I will never forget this day. Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and the NCP trusted me. I have got the nomination from Vandre (East), I am sure that with the love and support of all people, I will definitely win the seat again,’ he said.

Baba Siddique was shot dead outside Zeeshan’s MLA office on October 12. Lawrence Bishnoi group had claimed responsibility for Siddique's murder. The feud of Lawrence Bishnoi gang with Bollywood actor Salman Khan led to the murder of Baba Siddique. In a Facebook post shared by a Bishnoi gang member, it was mentioned that Siddique's intimacy to Salman Khan and his association with underworld heroes like Dawood Ibrahim was the reason for targeting him.
