THRISSUR: CPM state secretary M V Govindan levelled serious allegations against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. He said the Governor is trying to saffronise the education sector. For this, the governor is conducting appointments in universities. M V Govindan blamed the Governor for re-appointing Mohanan Kunnummal as the vice-chancellor of Health University and termed it as illegal and anti-democratic. M V Govindan asked what was the commotion when Gopinath Ravindran was reappointed as Kannur VC. Now there is no discussion, he said.
Govindan also responded on Sarin issue. His attitude towards the chief minister is not the same now. Sarin called when there was a problem. M V Govindan said that he does not need to apologize for Sarin's old stance and now he is with the left front. Govindan informed that money could not be offered to Left MLAs and Thomas K Thomas’ issue was not discussed in the CPM Secretariat.
