KOTTAYAM: More information is out in the case of a couple found dead in Kadanad Kavumkandam. The deceased have been identified as Roy (60) and his wife Jhansi (55) in Kanankompil, Kadanad. The police have concluded that the husband committed suicide after strangling his wife.

According to the police, the two used to fight over financial issues but the locals say that they belonged to a financially well-off family. The incident took place when his only son, a third standard student, went to school. This son was born to the couple after twenty-eight years of waiting.

The incident happened around 12.30 pm yesterday. At 11.30 Roy called his elder brother Sebastian who lives in Thodupuzha. It is known that Roy had told his brother that he was going to die. Sebastian informed Roy's neighbours about the incident. By the time they got there, both were found dead.

Roy was hanging and Jhansi's body was lying face down on the ground. Jhansi is a member of Karikompil family in Meenachil. Police and scientific experts reached the spot under the leadership of Pala DYSP K Sadan. The funeral will be held today at 4:30 pm at St. Augustine's Forona Church, Kadanad.
