KOZHIKODE: Karat Razzak, former Koduvalli MLA and ex-member of the CPM, has voiced sharp criticisms against CPM and Minister Mohammad Riyas. Speaking to the media, Razzak accused Riyas of "hijacking" the party and alleged a conspiracy by Koduvalli MLA and IUML workers to disrupt his development initiatives. He warned that if his grievances are not addressed within a week, he might reconsider his stance.

The CPM had reportedly submitted a complaint to local area committees to address these issues, but Razzak claimed the complaint has gone unanswered for three years. "I’ll wait a week or ten days. After that, I will announce my position," he said, noting that he still supports Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and maintains unity with the CPM's state and district leadership. His dispute, he clarified, lies primarily with local area committees.

Rumors have circulated about a potential collaboration between Razak and former Nilambur MLA P V Anwar, who previously left the CPM. While Razak confirmed that he has not yet made a decision to join forces with Anwar, he mentioned that many workers from both UDF and LDF have expressed support following his recent meeting with Anwar. He refrained from commenting extensively on gold smuggling allegations raised by Anwar, indicating that any further decisions will be made in due course.

Razak, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Madrassa Board, added that if removed from the position, he would vacate the post willingly. He has already removed the Madrassa Board designation from his vehicle. While speculating about possibly forming a new party, he stated that he has no plans to join the IUML, citing issues with its leadership.

"My response to Anwar’s invitation was, ‘wait.’ This is not an ultimatum against CPM. Who am I to issue an ultimatum to a party?" Razak concluded, signaling potential shifts in his political trajectory in the coming days.
