PALAKKAD: The second page of the letter submitted by the DCC seeking to field former KPCC president K Muraleedharan in the by-election has come out. The page containing the names of the leaders who signed the letter has come out. The letter has been signed by five senior leaders from the district level.
The letter has been signed by three former DCC presidents and a woman leader apart from the district Congress president. VK Sreekandan MP, former MP VS Vijayaraghavan and KPCC executive committee member CV Balachandran are the former DCC presidents who signed the letter. KPCC general secretary Prof KA Thulasi has also signed the letter.
The letter that was sent to AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, general secretary in-charge of Kerala Deepa Dasmunsi, KPCC president K Sudhakaran and opposition leader V D Satheesan has come out. The letter said that there should be a strong candidate who can get the votes of all sections of society and the Left-minded people in order to prevent the BJP's victory in Palakkad and to stop their march forward in Kerala.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders have taken a stand that if the party leadership takes a decision on the candidate, then everything else is irrelevant. VK Sreekanthan has been actively campaigning for Congress candidate Rahul Mamkootathil since the announcement of his candidature.
