VIKRAVANDI (VILLUPURAM): The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, formed by actor Vijay, has announced that another film star will dominate Tamil Nadu politics after MGR and Jayalalithaa.

In a speech that enthused tens of thousands of supporters who attended the party's first state conference, Vijay attacked the DMK regime and announced that the party would contest all the seats in 2026 and come to power.

In his speech, Vijay referred to MGR and NTR, who came to power from the film industry. Vijay invited other political parties to join the alliance and also offered a stake in governance. Witnessing the millions of people who flocked to Vikravandi, Vijay declared: "We will deal with the corrupt in the democratic process. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam will contest in all the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu. Your votes will turn into explosions."

Without mentioning names, Vijay criticised the BJP's religious politics and the DMK's family politics. He also said that a family is looting the country. Vijay declared Periyar, Kamaraj, Ambedkar, Velu Nachiyar and Anjalai Ammal as his guide lights. Vijay's statement that Periyar's name was being mentioned by some people for nothing was also aimed at the DMK.

  8. Oppose any form of varnashrama doctrines against equality and social justice
  9. One-third of the party posts will be reserved for women. Gradually it will be increased to 50 per cent.
