THRISSUR: The FIR in the case registered in connection with the disruption of Thrissur Pooram is out. The charges registered are the accused helped each other, conspiracy, deliberate attempt to insult religious beliefs and attempting or provoking riots against the government. Disrupting Thrissur Pooram on April 20, 2024 had sparked a political controversy.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's statement that Pooram was not disrupted and only a delay in the fireworks, had stoked a controversy in the LDF. The CPI stood firm in their stand seeking an investigation on the role of the RSS in the conspiracy behind the disruption of Pooram, rejecting the chief minister. CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said Pooram was not only disrupted but also did not allow to conduct it in the manner it should be done.
Meantime, the Devaswom office bearers reacted strongly after the police registered a case in it. The office bearers of Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu Devaswom responded. The Thiruvambady devaswom responded that there is no conspiracy behind the disruption in Pooram, but only a lapse from the side of the officials. The Paramekkavu Devaswom also informed that they will not accept if they are annoyed by filing an FIR.
