KALPETTA: AICC general secretary and Wayanad Lok Sabha candidate Priyanka Gandhi said there is an attempt to subvert the constitution in the country. She said that she knows how fear and hatred is being spread in the country. Violence against minorities is being unleashed when BJP rules. Priyanka was speaking to the media while campaigning in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.

‘Policies are made to favour the friends of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. No pity or sympathy towards farmers. Not understanding the traditions of the adivasis. Giving empty promises,' she said. Priyanka Gandhi also said that she would become the proudest person in India by representing Wayanad. Priyanka also said that if she is selected as a people's representative, it will be the biggest honor she gets.

It was her first public meeting in Meenangadi after becoming the UDF candidate in Wayanad. Priyanka also shared her joy of meeting 73-year-old Thresyamma, a voter in Wayanad. Priyanka also said that when she hugged Thresyamma, she felt like she was hugging her own mother.

'I got a mother as soon as I set my foot in Wayanad. When Thresyamma gave me the rosary, I remembered something that happened when I was 19. When my father died, Mother Teresa came to see me. She touched my head and blessed me. She gave me the rosary like the one Thresyamma gave me. Mother Teresa asked me to join her for charity works, Priyanka said.
