NEW DELHI: Almost three months ago on August 5, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India. Hasina, who resigned from the post of Prime Minister, flew to India after the protest in the country. Reports at that time were that she would seek political asylum in Britain. She took off from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on a Bangladesh Air Force flight and went to New Delhi, the capital of India.

What happened to Sheikh Hasina after she arrived safely in New Delhi? From there she went to Britain as predestined? This question has been raised in both India and Bangladesh but no definitive answer has been given. India was closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh during the agitation. India also informed that it is concerned about the security of the minorities in the country. Along with this, Indian citizens in Bangladesh were also advised to be cautious.

'The Print' reports that Sheikh Hasina is still in India. According to the report, Sheikh Hasina has been staying in the Lutyens' bungalow zone in New Delhi for more than two months. Hasina has been given a bungalow that is usually allotted to ministers, senior members of parliament and high-ranking officials. A high-security facility has been set up here.

Haseena, 77, occasionally goes for a walk in Lodhi Garden, the print report said, citing unnamed officials. Meanwhile, the Indian government has not released any information regarding Sheikh Hasina due to security reasons. She maintained close ties and friendship with India when she was the ruler of Bangladesh. When Hasina was re-elected in the country's general elections, the Bangladeshi opposition had also raised allegations that India had interfered in the elections.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh's interim government has issued an arrest warrant against Hasina. The order is to arrest him and produce him in court on November 18. She is accused of committing a crime against humanity.
