THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan alleged that former Kannur district panchayat president PP Divya was taken into custody from a party village of the CPM. He also said that it was the CPM that hid Divya as per the instructions of some people in the Chief Minister's office.
"Divya attempted to tarnish the reputation of the ADM by portraying him as a corrupt official. However, the media thwarted this attempt. The opposition's allegation were proven right with the court verdict denying anticipatory bail. Divya was taken into custody from a party village within a few hours after the court denied her anticipatory bail. Why is the Chief Minister, who is unable to provide justice to a family, remaining in that chair?" Satheesan said.
"No one in Kerala will get justice if party members are the accused in cases. The government's stance is to support its close ones no matter what they
do. The Chief Minister is under the control of mischief makers. Divya was taken into custody due to the by-election. Although she had sought treatment at the Payyannur Hospital, the police did not arrest her. The court had not asked the police not to arrest Divya. There is no doubt that she was under the protection of the CPM," he added.
