KOZHIKODE: The RT office has come up with a strange fine for not wearing a seat belt on a scooter. Biju Alex of Santhinagar in Kodancherry, who comes under the Koduvally RTO office in Kozhikode, was shocked by the seat belt fine. The fine was imposed under the Tirupur police station limits in Tamil Nadu.

Biju said that he had not crossed the limits of Kozhikode district after purchasing the scooter. Honda Dio with registration number KL57J6255 has been imposed the strange fine.

The Honda Dio bought in 2016 was sold to someone else the other day. Biju Alex was informed that he was fined Rs 200 for not wearing a seat belt in Tirupur in February 2021, when he reached the RT office to hand over the two-wheeler to the buyer. Biju lodged a complaint with the Thiruvambady police after paying the fine and handing over the paper as the vehicle had to be transferred quickly.
