THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there is a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning in Kerala from tomorrow till November 3. Yellow alert has been issued in various districts for three days from tomorrow. There is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts during the next three hours.

01/11/2024 : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram

02/11/2024 : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad

03/11/2024 : Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad

Yellow alert has been sounded in these districts. Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted. Heavy rainfall means a situation where rainfall ranges from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. Meanwhile, the IMD has informed that there will be no restriction on fishing along and off the Kerala- Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts today.

Thunderstorms are dangerous. They cause great damage to human and animal life, electrical and communication networks and household appliances connected to electrical conductors. Therefore, the general public should take the following precautions from the time the cloud starts to be seen. Do not hesitate to take this precaution as lightning may not always be visible.
