KOZHIKODE: The police have taken into custody a bus that drove recklessly into the chief minister's convoy. The incident happened at Kottooli in Kozhikode last evening.

When the chief minister was returning from the concluding meeting of the balasangham, the vehicle that stopped at the bus stop was moving ahead without noticing the convoy. The bus entered while the escort vehicle in front was passing. A case has been registered against bus driver Rajesh for reckless and dangerous driving.

A few days ago, CM's convoy met with an accident in Thiruvananthapuram. The accident occurred when the escort vehicle braked to save a scooterist, who had crossed the road. Five vehicles, including the chief minister's vehicle, escort vehicles and an ambulance, met with an accident around 6.30 pm on Monday.

This was followed by the incident in which a private bus was driven recklessly into the convoy of the chief minister. The police are of the stand that no case should be filed as no one was injured in the accident in Thiruvananthapuram and there was no significant damage to the vehicles. There will be no further inquiry into the female passenger. As there is no case, her statements were not recorded or summoned to the station. The preliminary conclusion is that there was no deliberate mistake on her part. Therefore, the direction is that the passenger need not be summoned.
