NEW DELHI: Bullets have been found on an Air India flight following frequent fake bomb threat messages. The bullets were recovered from the under-seat pocket during cleaning of the Air India flight AI916 from Dubai to Delhi. The plane reached Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport on 27th of last month.
The crew were cleaning the plane after disembarking the passengers. The employees informed the authorities. A spokesperson of Air India told the media that following the security rules, Air India lodged a complaint with the airport police. The authorities informed that the information of the passengers sitting near the seat where the bullets were found is being collected and an investigation has been started in the incident. The passengers were checked before boarding the plane. The officials stated that they are investigating where the fall came from and that it is a serious matter.
An Air India flight that was scheduled to depart from Nepal to Delhi last Monday also faced a fake bomb threat. This was the second bomb threat to Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport in a week. With this, the airport authorities have increased the security of the employees and passengers.
At the same time, the central government has issued new guidelines to avoid the difficulties of passengers in the face of increasing threats of fake bombs in flights. The Center also said it would give more powers to the Security Council to conduct a thorough investigation to find out whether the threat is real or fake. All things like whether the bullies are connected with any terrorist groups, whether there are social, economic and political reasons behind the threat and whether they are connected with international groups will be checked.
