MUMBAI: New Zealand completed a historic 3-0 whitewash against India, handing the hosts another crushing defeat in the third Test in Mumbai. India, once again, struggled against the visitors' formidable spin attack, falling short by 25 runs as they were all out for 121 while chasing a target of 147.

Starting the third day with just a slim lead, New Zealand could add only three more runs before being bowled out for 174, setting India a target many believed would be manageable. However, the chase quickly spiraled into a collapse as the Indian lineup struggled against New Zealand's spin duo, with Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips wreaking havoc.

India's opening batters faced early setbacks as captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed at just 13 runs. Soon after, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli followed suit, intensifying the pressure. Rishabh Pant provided a glimmer of hope, scoring a quickfire 64 off 57 balls before being dismissed by Ajaz Patel, caught by Tom Blundell, sending shockwaves through the Indian camp.

Despite a late attempt from Ravichandran Ashwin and Washington Sundar, New Zealand’s bowlers stayed relentless. Ashwin was eventually dismissed by Phillips with India at 121, and from there, the collapse was swift. Phillips bowled Akash Deep for a duck, while Ajaz Patel delivered the final blow, bowling Sundar to seal New Zealand’s victory.
