THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state leadership has decided to reorganize the KPCC office bearers after the by-polls. The reorganization will give representation to more youth in General Secretary and Secretary posts. This is a part of reviving the party before the local elections and putting the organizational system into full motion.

Operational excellence and the ability to complete the tasks assigned by the party will be the criteria for selecting youths for KPCC office bearer posts. The new format will have two secretaries for one general secretary. There is also a plan to get rid of inefficient general secretaries. The post of KPCC treasurer, which has been vacant for a long time, will also be filled.

Kodikunnil Suresh MP, a special invitee in the working committee, will step down from the post of working president. There is also a demand to change the DCC presidents found inefficient in systematically running the organizational system in their assigned district. The possibility of a change in the presidents and office bearers of all the districts cannot be ruled out if there is deregulation at the DCC level.

The opinion of senior leaders will be considered before the final decision. The preliminary evaluation has been done by AICC leaders in charge of Kerala.

The Congress high command is dismayed over the candidate selection kerfuffle in Palakkad. The letter leak within DCC in Palakkad was also assessed as a concerning development that gave an opportunity for opposition parties to bruise Congress chances in the by-polls.
