IDUKKI: The complainant, who lodged a sexual assault complaint against Nivin Pauly, alleged that Nivin Pauly received help from the police to get a clean chit in the case. She also alleged that Nivin has close ties with the police. The police had dropped Nivin Pauly's name from the list of accused in the sexual assault case. The police submitted the report to Kothamangalam Magistrate Court.
"The police had been attempting to protect Nivin Pauly right from the start of the investigation. The special investigation team did not even record a proper statement about the incident. I will proceed legally," the complainant said.
In her complaint, the Kothamangalam native woman had alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Nivin Pauly and five others at a hotel in Dubai on December 14 and 15 last year. Upon investigation, the police found that Nivin Pauly was not in Dubai on the date mentioned by the complainant. Nivin Pauly was the sixth accused in the case. The woman lodged the sexual assault complaint soon after the Hema Committee report came out.
Nivin Pauly had called a press conference soon after the woman lodged sexual harassment complaint against him. He stated that he had never met, called or messaged the woman who lodged the complaint against him. He said that he would go to any extent to prove his innocence and that he would fully cooperate with the investigation.
